Railroad Accident

Railroad employees are afforded protection under various federal laws, including the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), the Federal Safety Appliance Act (FSSA) and the Federal Locomotive Inspection Act (LIA). Under FELA, railroad companies are responsible for providing their workers with a safe working environment.

If a railroader proves that their injuries were sustained on the job, and the railroad was “legally negligent” (at least in part), then he or she is entitled to full compensation which is usually much greater than that provided by the state Workers’ Compensation program. If you are an injured railroader, you should understand and appreciate that FELA claims are often complicated and present many legal hurdles. I can handle those hurdles on your behalf.
